Named in honor of Robert Blair, whose life's work was dedicated to creating second chances for returning citizens, The Robert Blair Reentry Department carries forward his vision of hope, dignity, and opportunity.

What We Offer

Everyone deserves the opportunity to rebuild.

The Robert Blair Reentry Department empowers returning citizens with the resources, support, and opportunities needed to successfully reintegrate into their communities. Through workforce development, life skills, mentorship, and advocacy, we believe in the power of second chances and new beginnings.We empower returning citizens with the resources, support, and tools needed to successfully reintegrate into their communities. Through workforce development, life skills, mentorship, advocacy, and community support, we help individuals overcome barriers, rebuild their lives, and create pathways to long-term success.

Based on assessment results, participants will be placed in one or more of the following programs:


 

Workforce Development

Job readiness training, résumé support, interviewing
skills, and workplace professionalism training, along with connections to employment opportunities.
 

Parenting Classes

Supporting reentrants in rebuilding healthy family relationships,
focusing on communication, child development, and positive discipline strategies; Mothers In Charge has certified facilitators to provide this service through the AJ Novick Group – Parenting in the Twenty First Century.
 

Batterers’ Intervention Group

Facilitated group sessions targeting accountability,
emotional regulation, and violence-prevention strategies; The MIC staff has been certified by the Emerge Corporation from Boston, Mass., which is one of the premier trainers of this curriculum in the United States.
 

Cognitive Skills Development Classes

Evidence-based cognitive-behavioral programming to address criminal thinking, improve decision-making, and build coping strategies. Mothers In Charge was certified many years ago to use Thinking for a Change and Thresholds programs and is awaiting recertification on Thinking for a Change 4.0.
