WE REMEMBER THE LIFE OF KHÀALIQ JABBAR JOHNSON
Twenty years ago today, our National Executive Director received a call that every parent fears, a call that changed her life forever. She was told that Khàaliq her only Son had been shot and succumbed to his injuries. She continues to miss him today like she has for the past 20 years and the pain remains with her. A Mother’s Prayer for Peace
NBC10 Philadelphia covered “A Mother’s Prayer for Peace,” the Mother’s in Charge online prayer service held on the final day of 2020 and followed up by interviewing our founder and National Executive Director Dr. Dorothy Johnson-Speight. Participants also prayed for the families of those lost as Philadelphia approached 500 homicides in 2020, the highest total in decades, as well as for peace in the new year.
