Last week I spent some time in San Francisco assisting in opening the latest chapter of Mothers In Charge. While I was there I had the opportunity to meet with David Rogers, Executive Director of Partnership for Safety and Justice in Oregon. David asked that we share this five minute film with our Philadelphia audience. It is a compelling example of the power of new paradigm framing. Oregon Out of Balance looks at how real people are negatively impacted by the status quo and presents a strong argument for a strategy that emphasizes increasing access to victim services, addiction treatment, mental health services, and re-entry programs rather than continuing to build and fill prisons. The film provides special emphasis on the why we must better meet the needs of survivors of crime and violence.
So watch it and pass it along to all your friends.
Peace,
Dorothy
